Red Rose 2000

A view of our restaurant and servery in the backgroundWell, we managed Red Rose '94 OK as our first big event, how would we cope in 2000? It all turned out pretty good really as you can see from the following report and pictures............

Our brief was to provide the overall catering service for the camp but a very good friend of ours, Simon Hardacre was to head up the Team that ran the "Trough & Off"

That gave us more time to concentrate on our other areas:

Staff Catering in the Lakes for 24 staff Staff Catering at Waddecar for 120 Staff + Fresh food supply for ALL campers All food supply for International guests Supply & support for the "Trough & Off"

Jackie checking the contents of one of our three hired freezers in the storesBetty Harvey and Alison Threadgold helped us out again by taking charge of the Lakes operation and provided excellent meals for our staff up there. We operated a courier service sending food parcels up on the bus each morning to keep them supplied.

Jackie Beesley, Shirley Lennie and Debbie Mather took on the mammoth job of running the stores. Not only were they inundated with food orders from campers but Diane (R) and Esther (L) Making yet more Ice-cream sundaesthey had to put up with orders from the Tough & Off, the Lakes and the Staff Restaurant too. These three ladies probably worked the longest hours of anyone on camp but they did the job wonderfully.

Esther Pownall was our Ice-Cream manageress and kept her cool all week supplying everyone with mountains of delicious ice-cream sundaes, Ably assisted at times by Jackie, Diane, Kate and the rest of the gang.

The staff restaurant was headed up by Pete and Colin and very ably assisted by the rest of the Team. The result was something to behold, see our menu and view our visitors book.
